1. Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Christians Palace mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and the Christians Palace team ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms apply to all versions of the App distributed through the Google Play Store or any other official distribution channel.
2. Description of the App
Christians Palace is a free, Christian devotional mobile application that provides:
- Bible Study — daily Scripture readings, reflections, full chapter reading, and a yearly study plan.
- Bible Stories — narrated Bible stories with text-to-speech audio playback and reading progress tracking.
- Puzzle — faith-based word search puzzles and Scripture Scribe typing challenges.
- Quiz — Bible knowledge quizzes across multiple categories, with scoring and daily streak tracking.
- Daily Notifications — optional local and push reminders for daily devotion and Bible challenges.
- Profile — a personal dashboard displaying your quiz points, streak, and stories completed.
The App is provided free of charge with no in-app purchases or subscriptions. The App displays in-app advertisements served by Google AdMob; ad revenue supports the continued development and maintenance of the App. See our Privacy Policy for details of the data AdMob collects.
3. Eligibility
You may use the App only if you are 18 years of age or older. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you are not permitted to use the App.
4. User Accounts
4.1 Account Creation
To access personalised features (progress tracking, quiz history, streaks), you may create an account by providing a display name, email address, and password, or by signing in with Google. You agree to provide accurate and complete information.
4.2 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at info@christianspalace.org if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
4.3 Account Data
Account data is stored primarily on your device and optionally synced to our secure server to enable data recovery after reinstallation. Your password is never stored in plain text — it is cryptographically hashed (bcrypt) before storage or transmission. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
4.4 Password Reset
If you request a password reset, a 6-digit verification code is sent to your registered email address. This code is valid for 15 minutes. We are not responsible for loss of account access if you no longer have access to your registered email address.
4.5 Account Termination
You may delete your local data at any time by uninstalling the App. To delete your server-side account data, contact us at info@christianspalace.org.
5. Licence to Use the App
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use the App on a personal device you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial devotional and educational purposes.
This licence does not include the right to:
- Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or sublicense the App or its content.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the App's source code.
- Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices within the App.
- Use the App to develop a competing product or service.
6. Intellectual Property
6.1 Our Content
All original content within the App — including but not limited to devotional reflections, story adaptations, quiz questions and answers, word search puzzles, Scripture Scribe level designs, artwork, graphics, user interface designs, and branding — is owned by or licensed to the Christians Palace team and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.
6.2 Scripture Content
Bible passages displayed within the App are drawn from translations that are in the public domain or used under applicable fair use provisions. We make no claim of ownership over Scripture text itself.
6.3 Your Feedback
If you submit feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the App (for example, by contacting us at our support email), you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use that feedback without restriction or compensation to you.
6.4 Limited Sharing Licence
You may share brief excerpts of the App's content (such as a daily reflection verse) for personal, non-commercial devotional purposes — for example, sending a Scripture passage to a friend or posting it on a personal social media profile with attribution. You may not reproduce or redistribute substantial portions of the App's content in any medium for commercial purposes.
7. Acceptable Use
Your use of the App is also governed by our Acceptable Use Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. In summary, you agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the App or its infrastructure.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App.
- Use the App's content in a manner that demeans or misrepresents the Christian faith or Scripture.
- Exploit the App or its content for unauthorised commercial gain.
8. Notifications
The App may request permission to send local and push notifications to your device, including a Daily Reflection (7:00 AM) and a Daily Challenge (12:00 PM). These notifications are:
- Purely devotional and informational in nature.
- Never used for marketing, advertising, or commercial messaging.
You may disable notifications at any time in your device's system settings without affecting your access to any App feature.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we expressly disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to:
- Implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
- Any warranty that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
- Any warranty regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content within the App.
Spiritual and devotional disclaimer: The App's Bible study content, daily reflections, and story narratives are provided for general Christian edification and educational purposes. They are not a substitute for pastoral guidance, professional counselling, theological instruction from a qualified minister, or the authoritative teaching of your local church.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the Christians Palace team, its developers, contributors, or affiliates be liable for any:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
- Loss of data, loss of profits, loss of goodwill, or business interruption.
- Damages arising from your inability to access or use the App, or from any content obtained through the App.
These limitations apply regardless of the legal theory under which such damages are claimed and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Christians Palace team and its developers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:
- Your use of or access to the App.
- Your violation of these Terms.
- Your violation of any rights of another person or entity.
12. Termination
12.1 By You
You may stop using the App and delete your local data at any time by uninstalling the App. To request deletion of server-side data, contact us at info@christianspalace.org.
12.2 By Us
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy.
12.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination, the licence granted to you under Section 5 will immediately cease. Sections 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 13, and 14 survive termination of these Terms.
13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Christians Palace team is based, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App that cannot be resolved informally shall be submitted to binding arbitration or resolved in the competent courts of the applicable jurisdiction. You agree to attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us at info@christianspalace.org before initiating any formal proceeding.
Nothing in this section limits your rights as a consumer under the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the Last Updated date at the top of this document. If changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you (for example, through an in-app notice on the next App launch).
Your continued use of the App after revised Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the App and uninstall it.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or severed if modification is not possible. The remaining provisions of these Terms shall continue in full force and effect.
16. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding your use of the App, and supersede all prior agreements and understandings, whether written or oral, relating to the same subject matter.
